Apple Picking

Sunday, September 18, 10am – noon

All are invited to gather at Drew Farm, 31 Tadmuck Road, Westford, before 10:00am, for a hayride up to the orchard, a few words of greeting and blessings, and apple picking on your own. Afterward, all are welcome to come together for a brown bag lunch. (Note that the Social Action Committee will also be meeting at noon at the picnic tables). Please RSVP to events@temv.org so that we will know to expect you! Directions are here.

There is no admission fee per se, but please do bring some money – prices for pick-your-own are:

  • $26 for ½ bushel (~20 lbs)
  • $15 for a peck (~10 lbs) or $26 for 2 pecks
  • $8 for ½ peck (~5 lbs)

There are also other items for sale at the stand, including cider donuts (yum!)

In the case of rain we will cancel the Apple Picking.

Social Action Committee Meeting

Sunday, September 18, at noon, at Drew Farms after apple picking. They have picnic tables—we will have lunch during our meeting. Everyone is welcome. Email Frank if you’d like to join the meeting.

Adult Education: Sanctuary of the Soul

Monday, September 19, at 7:00pm

Our 2nd of three classes exploring our new machzor, Mishkan HaNefesh, continues with an in-depth look at the Shofar Service. Each class is a separate unit; you needn’t have attended the first class for this one to be meaningful. The third and final class will meet the following Monday, September 26. Please let Rabbi Sparr know you plan to attend at rabbi@temv.org.

Book of Remembrance

TEMV has a Yom Kippur tradition of honoring our loved ones in a Book of Remembrance. It allows the opportunity to be more reflective during the High Holidays because it reminds us of our connections to people who have touched our lives and are no longer with us. You will be able to take the booklet home following Yom Kippur Services as a lasting expression of those memories .

Email the exact wording of how you wish to have your loved ones remembered. The default wording will be:

Remembered by The XXX Family

The suggested donation is $5 per name.  If this causes a hardship for you, please give what you feel you can to help defray printing costs. Contact Phebe or (978) 256-2855 with your names or for a reminder of what you listed last year.

Interested in Learning Bridge?

Contact Alan Wolff at bridge@temv.org if interested, let him know your availability.   Time and day will be decided based on the availability of  the majority of those who have expressed an interest.

Food and Toiletry Collections

There are boxes in the lobby waiting to be filled with your generous donations. All donations go to local charities. Thank you!
