Dear friends: In light of the frigid temperatures, we are offering an alternative to services at TEMV this Shabbat, January 5—TEMV LIVE on Facebook! Rabbi Sparr will lead a musical and interactive Erev Shabbat service streamed live on TEMV’s Facebook page, beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. You don’t need to have a Facebook account to view this.
- Sing and pray along from the warmth of your living room!
- Feel free to gather your candles, a glass of wine or juice, and a challah so we can (virtually) observe the Shabbat mitzvot together.
- If you have a siddur at home, great! If not, feel free to enjoy a paperless service.
We will include Mi Shebeirach, with an opportunity for you to type in the names of those in need of healing, and the Mourners’ Kaddish, when we will recall those whose yahrzeiten fall this week and during the past two weeks, and you will again have an opportunity to type in names of your beloved ones.
There will be no services at the temple location, but we hope Facebook Live will allow us to celebrate Shabbat more safely and warmly while the weather continues to be exceptionally harsh.
If you need help finding our page or the live stream, please reach out to Dana (before 7:30) for assistance.
