Family Shabbat Services and Potluck/Pizza Dinner

Friday, February 1, 2019, 6:15 p.m.

Note early start time! Potluck oneg; please bring something to share! Please join us for a family service in our new home, Suite 200 of 151 Warren St. in Lowell. (See parking and bus info.) Our 45-minute service will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m., and will include lots of songs, some movement and a story. Join us also for a pizza/potluck dinner; please RSVP to klipshires@gmail.com to let us know how many to expect and what you can contribute as a main or side dish.

Rabbi Sparr Office Hours

Rabbi Sparr will be holding office hours Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday this week. Appointments must be made in advance by contacting her at rabbi@temv.org or during business hours at 508-736-5555. In an emergency or urgent need, do phone at any hour.

Religious School

Sunday, February 3

In session; class begins at 10 a.m.; please plan to arrive at 9:45 and remember your snack and tzedaka. Education Committee meeting at 10:00 a.m.; all parents and caregivers are invited. Please also join us for a school-age focused service this Friday.

TEMV New Space Opening and Dedication

Mark your calendars! We will be celebrating and dedicating our new space with:

  • A special Shabbat service Friday, February 8th at 7 p.m., including:
    • A performance by the Meetinghouse Ringers Hand Bell Choir of the First Parish Unitarian Church
    • Honoring our new members
  • An Open House Sunday, February 10th from noon till 2 p.m. 
    • Special musical guest: Barry Shapiro
    • Affixing our mezuzot
    • Hora with the Torah
    • Bagels and lox
    • Preceded by “Invite a Friend to School”: Children not yet in our Religious School who would like to experience it, please come at 11 a.m.

Extra Food Donations Needed

Please contribute to our food collections so that the food pantry in Lowell can have enough food to distribute to families that may have been impacted by the recent Federal government shutdown. –Frank Baskin, Social Action Chair

Mah Jong

During the time of transition into our new space, please email mahjong@temv.org if you would like to play, so that we may tell you where we are meeting. We are flexible as to dates and times based on the availability of those who wish to play.

Food and Toiletry Collection

There is a box in the TEMV lobby for non-perishable food and toiletry items, to be donated to the Lowell Transitional Living Center.
