Erev Shabbat/Shabbat Shira – Songs of Hope and Freedom Singalong
Friday, February 7, 2020, 7:00 p.m.
Note early time!
Board host: Robin Frisch
Oneg host: Vivian Burton
This shabbat is “Shabbat Shira”, the “Shabbat of Song”, when many congregations typically host a music program in honor of the Song of Sea, the song of freedom our ancestors sang after crossing into freedom. We will (mostly) omit traditional service elements and join together in an evening of (mostly) sing-a-long songs focused on the themes of Hope and Freedom. You are likely to know many of the selections! Please come prepared to sing, hum, or clap along (as you are comfortable). We will of course include Mi Shebeirach and Mourners’ Kaddish to ensure those in need of healing and comfort are supported.
